Working standards

Trust is part of
the preparation.

In chess, a useful insight can lose its value the moment it reaches the wrong person. We define competitive boundaries and information access before opening the first game file.

Independent team · Exclusive engagements · Private material
01 / Standard

No divided loyalties

We accept one federation engagement during an agreed exclusive period. For individual tournament work, we support one player in that competition. Potential overlaps are checked before a brief is accepted.

If an engagement would put us on both sides of the same competitive situation, we decline it. The exact scope, event and dates of exclusivity are agreed before research begins.

02 / Standard

Preparation stays private

Games supplied privately, opening ideas, opponent files, model outputs and preparation decisions are treated as confidential client material.

We agree who may access a file, how it is shared, and when it should be retained or removed. No identifiable client work appears in a case study or public portfolio without permission.

03 / Standard

Evidence before certainty

A prediction is labelled with its evidence, sample size, recency and uncertainty. Engine checks, human approval and player rehearsal are separate states.

AI player models remain a research capability. We test them on held-out games and explain their limits before using any output to influence a practical decision.

How this works

Before the first file changes hands.

01 / Conflict check

Define the competitive boundary

We ask which federation, player, event and period the work concerns, then check for overlap before accepting it. We serve one federation during an agreed exclusive period and one individual player in a tournament.

02 / Access

Agree who sees the analysis

Client-provided games, unpublished opening ideas, opponent files and model outputs are shared only within the people and channels agreed for the engagement. The first contact message should not include confidential PGNs.

03 / Retention

Set the end of the engagement

File access, retention and removal are agreed with the client. We do not turn identifiable client work into public examples, endorsements or training material without explicit permission.

These are our working standards for proposed engagements. The exact dates, scope, authorized recipients and data handling terms are set out in the project agreement.
